Nearly a year after the dramatic events at the Roebling Suspension Bridge, the otherworldly citizens of Cincinnati are settling into the new state of affairs. O’Flanagan’s has become the hub of fae activity in the area under the watchful eye of Troll Evangeline Kane. But other sentinels of the city also frequent the bar, including Gargoyle Kalila Storm.

When a string of robberies threatens mortals and fae alike, Kalila and her partner, Declan, must track down those responsible. But just when they think they’ve uncovered the truth, they find that the web of deceit stretches even further than they could ever have imagined. And as if that wasn’t enough, Kalila is at war with herself over her inexplicable new attraction to a mortal woman.

This book is set in the same universe as The Bridge series by Erik Schubach.

The Bridge ~ Inner City Gargoyles eBook Victoria Cobretti Erik Schubach

This is set in the world of Erik Schubach's "The Bridge" series. It centers around one of the secondary characters mentioned in some of those books. It also mentions the protagonists of the main series. I recommend reading the main series first, as this one assumes an understanding of that world.

This is a fun, light read. There is little depth to the characters or the situation. The world is interesting. It's good escapism.

Like Erik Schubach's books, this was spell checked, but never proofread. The frequent gramatical errors detract from the story by disrupting the flow. There's even a blatent word misuse on the very first page: "I reached out to my home and reveled in the information being fed to me _thought_ the shadow-bond I share with the structure." Even a cursory reading would have caught that the word should have been "through". There are also internal inconsistancies. One character's name is sometimes "Toni", and sometimes "Toby". The errors are sufficently distracting to merit removing one star.

The Bridge ~ Inner City Gargoyles eBook Victoria Cobretti Erik Schubach Reviews

I wasn't sure what to expect with this book, but being a fan of Erik's work and his bridge books I had to give this a chance. That being said I loved it. It felt like it belonged in the series and I look forward to more inner city novel's
I was excited to read this when I saw it available as I love the The Bridge series by Erik Schubach. I was not disappointed when I read it. It was really nice to see a different side of the "Goyle's" and how they protect their beloved city. Hope for more in the very, very near future!
Good companion to the Bridge series and nice to have an additional point of view in that world. Well written. I enjoyed this and would definately check out more from this series and this writer.
This book flows very well with Erik Schubach' s book "The Bridge Traitor" and gives you just enough information to make you want to read this one to get the whole story. I really like that it focuses on the gargoyles point of view. It worked. The glimpse you give into Erik' s characters were great. This made me question the brief encounters Kalila had with Kane. Good job. I loved it and look forward to reading more from you.
A touching story of conquer, heartache, bad apples and blooming love. All in all, a fan-fricking- tastical story in the Bride universe. In much of the same writing style of Erik Schubach, Victoria creates magic and mayhem in the city of Cincinnati with Goyle Kalila Storm. Their antics about the city inspire and set in motion what promises to be a wonderful read with plenty of teasing throughout the story as Kalila warms up to a blooming crush as well as being the sentinel she is and protecting her city from a tangled web of ill-intent fae. It's a wonderful addition to the Bridge universe and a definite must read!
I'm a big fan of Erik Schubach's Bridge series, so I couldn't pass up the chance to get a look at some more of that world. Victoria Cobretti didn't disappoint! The characters fit nicely into the already established world, and the story line weaved seamlessly into the previous story.

Though it would stand well on it's own even for those who haven't read the other books in the series. Also all of the main characters were well rounded, and easy to connect with. I'll definitely be looking forward to reading more in the future.
After I finished reading The Bridge Traitor I was a bid sad because I knew I would have to wait for the next awesome book to come along, I'm happy to say I didn't have to wait long.

The author did a really good job bringing to live this amazing characters in an universe we have come to love and enjoy, the story is well developed and you get great character and settings descriptions, so if you are a new reader of the series or a fan you can still enjoy the wonderful story without getting lost (if you are new) or thinking you are loosing precious story space by telling things you already know (if you are a fan).

I huge thumbs up!! for the writer in this wonderful debut book, I hope we get to read and share more great stories from her soon =)
