The fifth star is lacking only because the title does not do it for me.The characters are solid and multi dimensional, even the smaller ones. No foul language. No vulgarity, no madness.
The plot is simple but very intriguing and well thought out. The author was in charge and knew her facts - the reason became obvious when I read her biography.
Future stories in this series promise to be equally enticing.

An Exhibit of Madness The Dulcie Chambers Museum Mysteries Book 1 edition by Kerry J Charles Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This is the first book by this author that I have read. So glad I did. I am sure that I will be reading more from her. Characters were well-developed and believable. Just when I thought that I had guessed the end.......Oh, well. Wrong again.
Enjoyable and well plotted. Appealing characters and a wonderful backdrop of the Maine coast, the world of art and a hint of romance.
This series of cozy mysteries is exactly what I needed! I wanted a well-crafted story, with a touch of romance, and not so much drama that I needed a Xanax afterwards. I also enjoyed the glimpses into the art world, of which I know very little. I look forward to book number six.
This was a very enjoyable, easy, fast read. Murder, stolen art, old secrets, greed . Alot of suspects kept you guessing. The story moves along nicely. Didn't understand the title after reading the story but still looking forward to the next book in this series.
The murderer was not committed until over halfway through the book, so there was a lot of room for each of the main characters’ backstory. A little more detail was given than I thought necessary. The book was good, but it moved a little slowly.
I loved this book because it was interesting, well written, and clean! Yes, free from profanity, explicit sex, and gruesome, dark violence. Thank you! I will continue is reading the Dulcie Chambers books, and I will recommend them to everyone )
The "About This Book" in the edition really doesn't do this book justice.
I took two art classes in college, and since one was an honors class, we visited a lot of museums around Massachusetts (not all would be considered art museums, but were, in their own way). I came to realize how incredibly hard it can be to run one. While Dulcie curates a small one, this book touches on how hard it can be.
This is not to say this book is dull or unexciting. To the contrary, very early into the story, you become very involved. The quotes at each chapter's beginning should not be ignored. They bring lushness and depth to the story. Perhaps want to see some the works of those quoted (I say as I peck out on my phone with a case depicting Starry Night).
The descriptions of Portland, Maine, do as well. They actually made me think of moving up there.
Believe me, up until the final chapter, you think you know Whodunit. The author may or may not have a few tricks up her sleeve until the very end.
Would I recommend this book? Very much so, especially to those who love a good murder mystery, and need to get away from the grittiness of big city murders. This is a beautiful book, especially for a murder mystery.
