I Met A Demon Based on Actual Events eBook Petronela Ungureanu

"I Met A Demon" by Petronela Ungueanu is a short story about a man while working on bridge construction in a village outside of the city (never says what village or city) has some unusual things happen to him. He's stuck in this village while the construction is going on so he stays at a rundown ramshackle old house alone, but is he really alone? He hears noises at night that sounds like rats in the attic, but as the days wear on the sounds begin to change. Are they just his imagination or is something else going on?

I thought the story itself was good, but lacked more detail to keep it interesting. I feel even without revealing the person it happened to, maybe an idea of what country or village might be helpful. Some facts to back up the story or basis of the story would've been great. I found the story more creepy than scary.

I Met A Demon Based on Actual Events eBook Petronela Ungureanu Reviews

Not until I finished reading this, did I notice the 'based on actual events'. I read straight through (short book) but had a hard time trying to identify with the writer. It was a strange little story, although I wonder which were the 'actual events' ?
This book was ok. There wasn't much detail and there didn't seem to be much going on. I don't understand how or why you would label this being as a "Demon" when it made no attempt to harm you in any way. Just because it had fiery eyes does not make it a demon. The way you described it sounded more to me like what people would describe an Alien/Extra Terrestrial being.
I was immediately engrossed in this story. My heart would start pounding for only a moment until I turned the page and have it speed back up. I have to say that it's hard to really get me freaked out when reading but I have to admit...this had my little heart a thumping. The writing was very impressive and well written. I couldn't wait to find out about said demon. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a scary, I don't want to turn the page, but have to anyway journey. On a side note....if I ever hear of any rumors about this kind of thing when looking at a house.... I am RUNNING!!!!
I was looking for a cheap book to read for my work shift, and found this. The tone reminded me of the blunt yet visual way WWZ was written. I was immediately drawn into the story and was engrossed in what was beginning to unfold. It kept me going right until the end.

All in all, a good read. Worth the slight price I paid, and I would be willing to pay an extra dollar for it -- the story was good enough to justify that much. I felt some of the suspense could've been drawn out longer, but for a short story it did the trick.
I did not know what to expect from this story when I bought it, other than what was suggested by the title. I was very pleased with how this story was told. It felt very personal, almost as though I was hearing this account first hand over a cup of coffee. I was quickly drawn into the culture and characters described, and the encounter with the demon was a chilling event to be sure. This is not a Hollywood over-hyped paranormal account but a believable, relatable account that will stick with you. I look forward to reading more from this author.
"I met a Demon" is a good, solidly crafted scary short story with a couple of misspelled words. The author does a good job of creating character, atmosphere, and sense of dread in a very small amount of time, and infusing the whole with Gothic overtones that leaves the reader uneasy from the beginning until the end.
Though I liked the book I thought it was a bit too short. I would like to have the author go back and 'flesh it out' more so we can read u[ on more of what happened, more of how it made him feel, more of the actual fear he felt. There was a decent amount of description of these feelings but I think there's a lot more room for a more well rounded story. That being said - I do recommend it to those that are interested in this type of story. Again, I liked it but I would have liked it more if there was more to it.
